Practical additional weight designed to effectively sink the main line and pin it to the bottom in front of the rod tip. Using a back lead is invaluable in strong crosswinds (eliminates false bites), when fishing near boat traffic, or to conceal the line from wary fish.
Installation is very simple: after casting, clip the weight onto the line and let it slide down into the water under the rod tip. The 48g weight reliably holds the line on the bottom.
